iFIDS.com Executive Summary

iFIDS.com has been providing a hosted Internet-based Flight Information Display System (FIDS) solution since 2000, and is part of a broader aviation IT solution product offering.

As a hosted FIDS provider iFIDS.com has the tools needed to provide our airport customers with Internet-based flight information displays and our air carrier customers with Internet-based operational displays. Included in this suite of tools are online browser-based user interfaces that allow for input of updated flight data, operational information, maintenance of flight schedules as well as tools to allow appropriate users to control the design and layout of actual displays. Because our solution is hosted and browser-based our flight information displays and all of our user-interfaces are available to anyone that has access to a PC connected to the Internet, and have appropriate login credentials.

Collection of airline-specific data from an airline central source is also something iFIDS.com has been doing for some time. We maintain data feed connections to a number of air carriers whereby we receive flight data by any of push or pull XML, FTP and MQSeries technologies. Our objective in collecting flight data from carriers was initially to provide our airport FIDS customers with automated data updates for their FID system. The carriers we currently collect data from include Westjet, Northwest Airlines and Alaska/Horizon. We have in the past have also collected data from United Airlines, CanJet and Bearskin Airlines.

Re-distribution of air carrier flight data from our host to third-party airport FIDS began in 2002. Since that time we have developed a data distribution network that ties into airport FIDS at St. John’s, Deer Lake NFLD (pending), Moncton, Saint John (pending), Charlottetown, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, London, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Prince George, Abbotsford, Vancouver, Victoria and Nassau, Bahamas.
